Meredith Teller - How to Make Sourdough Bread - Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 9:00 am

$200.00

You've been asking, and we're listening! Now offering sourdough classes! Learn how to make real sourdough using only flour, water and salt (no commercial yeast)!

This sourdough class will teach the basics from feeding and caring for sourdough starter, mixing dough, and baking it. It is for everyone of every skill level, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced baker looking to try something new! This class will be lead by Meredith Teller of Hazel & Rosemary Micro Bakery and Kitchen. Meredith began baking sourdough in early 2020 and it took off from there (after many previous attempts that resulted in some dense bricks of bread)!

This class is limited to 8 participants. The cost is $200 + HST, which must be prepaid to reserve a spot. This makes an excellent gift too! Lunch is included. Come prepared for several hours of learning, conversation, and tasty food! Here’s what the cost includes! Each student baker will receive:

  • A basic understanding of the principles of sourdough bread making with a unique hands-on learning experience

  • One baking kit consisting of

    • 1 Banneton (proofing basket)

    • A sharp tool for "scoring" bread before baking

    • 1 bench scraper

    • 1 loaf of freshly baked sourdough bread to take home

    • A jar of sourdough starter, along with instruction to properly care for her

    • 1 loaf of bread in the new banneton, to be cooked at home

    • Organic Ontario flour

    • Access to an exclusive alumni Facebook group for collaboration and support with all graduates of Hazel & Rosemary’s sourdough classes, past & present

Due to the limited nature of these classes, we have a very strict policy that you will need to sign off before completing your registration

Once you complete the form, please check out of the cart - look for the icon in the top right hand corner. Classes must be prepaid, and you are not considered registered until that happens. If you use the PAYINSTORE coupon, please come in and pay with whatever form of cash or card that you wish. Once you receive the email from us confirming your participation, you will receive an email from Meredith sometime before the class to give you some additional information regarding what you will need to bring to the class. We look forward to hosting you soon!
